FOOD-is-LOVE: Detox Dessert

Tools: glass, bowls, imagination

Ingredients for the layers of one dessert:

-         1 T Thai basil seeds soaked in 2/3 cup water

-         1 T coconut milk

-         1 T fresh, organic beet juice

-         2 T shredded coconut

-         ¾ cup puffed grains or porridge

Ingredients for raw chocolate sauce:

-         1 T raw honey, agave or yacon syrup

-         1 t still mineral water or raw coconut oil, melted*

-         1 ½ T raw cacao powder

Step 1: Soak Thai basil seeds. Set aside for 10 minutes.

Step 2: In a bowl, combine the honey, water or coconut oil, and raw cacao powder to make the chocolate sauce. Let it rest.

           Step 3: Add the coconut milk and beet juice to the soaked Thai basil seeds to complete the purple mixture.


            Step 4: Fill the glass with puffed grains or porridge.

            Step 5: Pour the purple mixture on the top.

            Step 6: Pour the chocolate sauce in.

 Sprinkle the shredded coconut onto the chocolate layer.

Let this decadent, luscious dessert rest in the refrigerator for a few hours.

A tip: Please adjust this recipe to suit your own palate. Play with layers as well.
